Hi, finally I went to see both exhibitions. About The Who, it was fantastic to see all of those pictures of them on their early years, my favorite period. I am their fan from 1985and the more I heard their music the more I love them. It was another time when artits didn't came from X factor. But I have to say that I prefer the other one at the NPG because it is a summary of everything that I like from the Swingin' London, emphasizing Dusty Springfield's photos and the book "The 60's. A decade in fashion". I have to come back because there is another exhibition about Twiggy which I didn't have enaugh time to see.

Also, that day, I bought two dvd called Primitive London and London in the raw. I'd seen the first one because I'd borrowed it from the library but not the second one. I think that the director is quite macabre, but he shows a different side of London that is interesting for me to know.

Yesterday I went to see a concert, Divas of Motown, and It was OK, not superior because of the lack of original ones. I enjoy their music, their voices and the venue.

About Dean Martin, I like his personality, I think that on his private life he was the same person that acting and that's why he was quite attractive. I like when he sing Everybody loves somebody, much more than from Frank Sinatra. I love old movies too, the golden Hollywood. My favorite one is Gone with the wind because Clark Gable is the man ever for me, in capital letters. I like Bette Davies and katherine hepburn's films too. It doesn't matter if those films are comedies or dramas, it's all about charm and they had it.

Wow, I go to attend the same exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery next week. It's not just because of the 60's style but the The Who's photographs, It's my favorite group ever. About to alter dresses, It is because sometimes there are small stains that I can't remove and I resolve it by adding some buttons (it's quite easy to find original ones) or pockets on the same material (I always have to make them shorter and I can use those remnants). It's not easy for me to find a dress that fit me because I'm a little bit small and women on this decade used to wear bigger sizes than mine. I go to markets to buy dresses; Camden, Portobello, Brick Lane are my favorites and a few retro shops around London. For shoes, I find some retro style with "Read or dead" and "Irregular Choice". Also, sometimes Top Shop or shops in Spain have good items. I don't know about men, but I bet that you can find retro style shoes in Ben Sherman, Sherrys or Merc. Have a look at the IKON catalogue as well. I adore 50's style but my body is not exactly like a guitar, so I don't wear those clothes. For clothes I prefer 60's and early 70's, It's all about necks, an special neck make a dress even if is plain. But I agree with you that I'm not a purist too, I love from the 50's till the 70's and I mean on everything: music, art, films, style, ... I use to say "I should have been there" and it sounds so stupid but It is what I feel inside about the scene, my scene. I don't know about "Mad men" but it is a good tip, I'm gonna look for it and I'll comment you. Have you seen "Two for the road"? It's an Audrey Hepburn film and this lovely lady looks fabulous on it. There are a book collection that you would love it, "fashinable clothing from the sears catalogs", presenting clothing styles for men, women and children from the early 50's till the 70's. So interesting!!! I have to tell you that I just have 20 real 60's dresses. It's so difficult for me to find a proper one to fit me. It have to be on my size, in style, not very expensive and in a good state. That means that I buy from time to time. Anyway, when I find something interesting I repare them and, sometimes, I improve them with buttons, ... My mum is my secret. About the photos that you saw, two of them are 60's and the mondrian is vintage, if not would be an Ives sant Laurent! and I really couldn't afford it. I started the collection three years ago so, it's not to bad, thinking that I don't use to wear the same dress twice. That's make every single dress unique, because I choose when and why I'm wearing it. My bags are 60's as well but for shoes, I prefer to buy new ones because of hygienic reasons. I am living in 2009 and I have to mix old and new. Talk to me a little bit more about your interest on real 60's outfits. Bye, we will be in touch.
