"Donovan meets Syd Barret in his Dylan phase" - Charles Wallace is the songwriter and lead singer of the band "HeadQuarters". HeadQuarters have been at the forefront of the neo-psyche pop music movement in New York City since 2001. With the unorthodox beginning of releasing their debut (produced by Gordon Raphael of Strokes fame) as a movie soundtrack for the film "American Mod" (which aired on the Sundance channel for 3 years in the US and BBC UK), the band has continued to break their own mold with 2 singles, their debut EP "Get Your Head On" and their new release O and O (Vibratone records).
"Guitars rushed with wha and phase; moog-ish synth landscapes transformed it into Shangri-La; thick vocal harmonies as commanding as the mighty Oz permeated; a driving rhythm section traced the skyline of the city; and the sound of HeadQuarters was born a midnight afterglow of psyche-pop delights. " - High Times magazine
HeadQuarters have continued to grow and tour the U.S. many times since their inception, playing with similar bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Soundtrack of Our Lives, Dead Meadow, The Romantics, The Black Angels, and more. After 3 successful compilation releases in the UK in 2007 (Northern Star records' "Psychedelica vol. I & II" and "Turn On Your Mind" by Psilocibin Sounds) and the possibility of a debut European release looming in 2008, HeadQuarters look to expand their growing following in Europe very soon.
