21st century modernist & sixties underground music culture

SWEETS recorded on the Los Angeles Soultown label. The vinyl release is dated around 1966/67. The singers are possibly linked with the same girl group that recorded for the Valiant label in 1965...a trio that included Felice Taylor and her sisters Norma and Darlene.
The Soultown label was run by aspiring LA. producer and impresario Bobby Sanders, influenced by Berry Gordy's success with Motown.
The Sweets flip, 'Satisfy Me Baby', was a popular uptempo dancer on the Northern soul scene in the mid 1970's. Consequently it gained a reissued pressing on a simpler designed label.
Other artists who have recorded on the same label include; Tempos, Delicates, Little Helen, Ray Agee, Travis McKinley, McKinley Twins and New Young Hearts. Also, actor Burt Ward --'Robin' in the 60's Batman series.
