Circle Records Facebook Group

Just to let my NUTs Network friends know: I've started a group for Circle Records, who help to bring you the Le Beat Bespoke series amongst other groovy things. I don't like to just add people without asking, so if you want to go along to https://www.facebook.com/groups/circlerecords/ and join-up, that would…

Keeler

Went to see the Keeler play last night in York, it played to a house about 10% full which is a great shame. It's a top play and well worth seeing, maybe it won't tell you much more than the film does but it's pretty impressive how a working class girl brought down the government. Not so impressive the way that the toffs left Ward to be the scapegoat.

Pop Goes The Sixties

Pop Goes The Sixties aired as part of a Sixties week on a cable channel called Yesterdays. It's a travesty, I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this.

To be fair it's a joint ZDF/ BBC production from what appears to be late 69, early 70? Saville is the BBC presenter. The Who do I Can See For Miles. Great song but Roger had his awful fringed jacket, Pete the (too short in the leg) bib and brace, Entwhistle looked, well, rubbish  and Moon was Moon.

Kinks do Days,…

It's my birthday Saturday 5th March and was thinking of coming down to London to visit my daughter in Crouch End and was wondering if anyone could suggest a decent Mod/Soul/R&B night on the 5th. My wife and I love the scene in Nottingham and my daughter and her partner are making a film about English youth cultures and exprienced Brighton last year (also loved it).  So any suggestions (Central London if poss)
Thank you in advance.

Mods on Livejournal?

Does anyone know if there are any mod communities on Livejournal. I use Livejournal everyday and tried searching for one but the results that came up weren't exactly on topic.

Old Music Like New

Hey, all! Just wanted to mention that I have a VERY extensive LP collection. All originals, and some DJ-only copies. My first album was Bobby Rydell at the Copa. He was only 19, and this was in 1961. Since then, I've collected over 500 albums, which I have now begun to put on cd. Now I can listen to them while I'm traveling. (My needle on my turntable needs to be replaced, so this is a Godsend!) Each time I listen to another newly copied record, it brings back tons of memories!

Go-Go Dancers!

Hi
I was just wondering if anyone can help me. I am looking for 2 Go-Go dancers for my 40th birthday party in July in Bournemouth. It is a 60's Beach Party theme, with The Surfing Gorillas playing along with 2 DJ's, and the venue will be completely decorated and fully 60's dress!
If you know of anyone, please e-mail me.
Thanks.
