When I was a kid in the early 60's there were these bigger kids (Brothers) in my street who used to call me names like 'Squirt' and surround me and try to scare me. One day one of them asked me...'Hey squirt, are you a mod or a rocker? I thought to myself..'I don't know what a mod is but I do know that your older brother and his mates ride big dirty motorbikes, dress in leather jackets and filthy jeans and call themselves rockers. In fact you all look like you could do with a good wash so I guess a mod is the opposite of a rocker so I must be a mod'. I didn't tell them that though because they would have been too thick to grasp such cool concepts so I kept my gob shut. I've been a mod in my heart ever since. I hate all things scruffy, dirty, oily and greasy. I love all things cool, smart, cultured and I love the 60's scene. Ergo...I am a mod all the way.
