I GOT INVOLVED IN THE GLASGOW MOD SCENE AS A VERY YOUNG LAD WHILST STILL AT SCHOOL AROUND 1979 the moment...A BLOKE DRIVES PAST ON A SCOOTER COVERED IN LAMPS AND MIRRORS AS I STOOD IN THE PLAYGROUND HE HAD A SCARF COVERING HIS FACE....THAT IMAGE JUST STUCK.. THEN OLDER BROTHER BECAME SCOOTER RIDING MOD ,HE INTRODUCED ME TO MOD THE SAME WAY AS EVERYONE ELSE ( HE SNEAKED ME INTO LOCAL UNI TO SEE SHOWING OF QUADROPHENIA,GOT INTO THE JAM,LOVE OF 60S MUSIC E,T.C) BOUGHT MY FIRST SCOOTER A YEAR LATER EVEN THOUGH I WAS YEARS AWAY FROM LEGALLY RIDING IT ! (LAMBRETTA J125 COST ME £20 STILL NOT SURE IF I OVER PAID ?) HIGHLIGHTS FROM THAT TIME... MEETING A CERTAIN MR WELLER (VERY GRUMPY AND RUDE ?) AND RIDING MY SCOOTER (VESPA 90 REGISTERED AS A 50 WELL I WAS 16..SWAPPED THE LAMBRETTA J FOR IT) LEGALLY AT LAST, MANY OF THE LADS AND LASSIES FROM THAT TIME ARE STILL INVOLVED TODAY...ONCE A MOD..AND ALL THAT !
THESE DAYS IM A SOCIAL WORKER FOR LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL BY DAY AND STILL HAVE A SERIOUS OBSESSION WITH RICHARD BARNES "MODS" BOOK, 60S MUSIC, NORTHERN SOUL, LAMBRETTAS, 60S CARS, RICKENBACKERS AND COFFEE ?

I thought you and the missus might of been at 'a little mixed up' yesterday. the bands were good. we didnt do the after show thing at the admiral, I was knackered by then.     cheers ralph got a tv seriers 2 my self with lots of accesories vigano jag light fryed eggs comit flashes chrome front mudgard what im picking up on is what u sead in scootering every think is twice the price im doing a series 1 jag lights 2000 i payed 800 for mine at rimini 4 years a go front mudgard 600 ulma d legshilds 1700 so no what your saying just got a outrigger exhaust from nigel cox did u have to make the down pipe for your one ? and a sat torino seat which im haveing coverd by andy nixon any way mate think your scooter one of the best tv iv seen cheers for adding me as a friend
