I am pleased that you took my compliments in the spirit they were intended. I certainly appreciate the time and effort you've obviously taken to assemble the 'complete look'. Are they all true vintage? I have put together quite a few 50s pin up outfits in the past and often mixed in modern repro items if it achieved the look I was after. I am currently planning some 60s themed fashion shoots using various London locations and aim to reach your level of style.

It sounds like you have an impressive collection of dresses. I went along to the 'Beatles to Bowie' exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery a couple of days ago they had a handful of dresses on display to add flavour to the fantastic displays of photographs. I must admit that I am not a fan of the Biba boho style, I much prefer the shift dress or drop waist look. Isnt it difficult to find good retro buttons? Isnt it better to keep things in their original state? You are fortunate to be able to pick up vintage clothes that fit, I rarely find anything because most chaps in the 60s were pretty short and slim! Why dont you wear the same dress twice? You have such wonderful taste it is a shame to hide such items. I think that it is quite simple to find accurate repro versions of 60s men's shoes, is it easy to find ladies shoes? I have to admit that I am a big fan of both 50s and 60s culture, so find it difficult to be a purist. Are you a fan of Mad Men? I simply adore the style of the series.

When you go along to the NPG make sure you also visit the Proud Central gallery which is nearby because they have an exhibition on that is totally devoted to photographs of The Who during their early years. The pics feature in a brand new book. It ends on 15th Nov but it is brilliant and worth seeing. Several of the shots are also included in the NPG event.

Now I understand why you need to alter clothes. I find moth holes in many vintage jackets. I love markets and charity shops. Retro shops can be a little expensive but I do enjoy going to Rokit in Covent Garden purely because it is so large.

Oh please do look into 'Mad Men', I am certain you will enjoy it. I have quite a few Audrey Hepburn movies but not 'Two For the Road', I will have to seek it out. My guilty pleasures are Dean Martin movies, even though they are often completely silly and light as air!

I have seen the sears catalogue book but there are too many ahead of it on my 'must have' list! Several of which are in the bookshop of the NPG including one about 60s fashion.

You are terrific to chat to. I enjoy it.
